Building Maintenance Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal operation, safety, and appearance of our facilities. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for maintaining a wide range of building systems and infrastructure, performing repairs, troubleshooting issues, and supporting the overall functionality of our property. Duties

• Troubleshoot and repair light electrical systems.
• Conduct HVAC system repairs, including filter replacements, ductwork adjustments, and troubleshooting heating and cooling issues to maintain optimal climate control.
• Carry out plumbing maintenance and repairs on pipes, fixtures, drains, and water systems to prevent leaks and ensure proper functionality.
• Utilize welding skills for metal repairs or fabrication tasks as needed to support building infrastructure.
• Maintain building interior surfaces through painting (residential or maintenance painting) and carpentry work to uphold aesthetic standards.
• Read schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately and execute repairs efficiently.
• Support facilities equipment maintenance by inspecting, repairing, or replacing mechanical components across various systems.
• Lead or assist with small-scale projects related to facilities improvements or upgrades while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and parts inventory in compliance with operational procedures.

Qualifications

• Former and Current Handymen encouraged to apply!
• Experience in building maintenance or facilities management with a strong understanding of mechanical systems.
• Electrical experience including repair of electrical equipment and wiring using schematics and testing devices such as ohmmeters.
• Knowledge of HVAC system repair techniques along with the ability to troubleshoot climate control issues effectively.
• Skilled in plumbing system maintenance including pipe repairs, fixture replacements, and leak detection.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and maintenance painting techniques.
• Ability to read technical schematics and mechanical drawings accurately.
• Strong communication skills in English to collaborate with team members and report issues clearly.
• Mechanical knowledge combined with customer service orientation to address internal client needs professionally.
• Leadership qualities that enable effective teamwork or supervision during projects or urgent repairs.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
