Building Services Engineer

About the role

Support the Building Services Co-ordinator in the day-to-day coordination, supervision and delivery of building services works for the A&A project. The role focuses on coordination between MEP installations, building works, specialist subcontractors and equipment suppliers, with particular attention to drawing submissions, site interfaces, installation progress, quality and commissioning readiness.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assist the BS Co-ordinator in coordinating electrical, MVAC, fire services, plumbing and drainage, ELV and building management systems
• Review combined services drawings (CSD), combined builder's work drawings (CBWD), shop drawings and installation details against architectural and structural requirements
• Coordinate openings, sleeves, plinths, equipment bases, supports, access panels, fire stopping, waterproofing and making-good requirements
• Check services routes, installation levels, equipment clearances and maintenance access; identify clashes and follow up their resolution with the relevant parties
• Prepare, review and follow up technical submissions, material submissions, method statements, inspection and test plans, and requests for information
• Monitor subcontractors' installation works for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project quality requirements
• Carry out site inspections, identify defects and installation conflicts, and follow up corrective actions
• Assist in coordinating installation interfaces for generators, HV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS, power distribution equipment, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units and associated services
• Track building services installation progress against the project programme and short-term look-ahead schedules
• Assist in coordinating pre-commissioning checks, testing and commissioning activities, and integrated systems testing as applicable

What We're Looking For

• Higher Diploma or above in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in building services installation, site supervision or MEP coordination
• Previous project delivery experience on a data centre is required; experience with data centre renovation or fit-out works is highly preferred
• Main-contractor or major MEP subcontractor experience, with the ability to coordinate across multiple trades
• Practical understanding of data centre electrical distribution, standby power, UPS and precision cooling systems, with the ability to coordinate disciplines outside the candidate's principal specialism
• Experience reviewing CSD/CBWD, shop drawings, material submissions and builder's work interfaces
• Familiarity with testing, commissioning and handover processes
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; ability to review BIM models using Navisworks or similar software is an advantage
• Good written and spoken English and Chinese; Cantonese required and Mandarin an advantage
• Proactive, organised and comfortable working on site, with strong follow-through on technical queries and coordination actions
