Building Substitute

Responsibilities:

• Provide substitute coverage for classroom teachers in various subjects and grade levels
• Follow lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the absent teacher
• Maintain a positive and engaging learning environment for students
• Support students in their academic and social-emotional development
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with autism or special education needs
• Implement effective behavior management techniques
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure continuity of instruction

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in childhood development, education, or a related field preferred
• Experience working with children in a classroom or tutoring setting
• Knowledge of math, literacy education, and other subject areas relevant to the grade levels being substituted for
• Familiarity with special education practices and strategies for supporting students with autism or other special needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff members
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and follow instructions from different teachers
• Flexibility in scheduling and availability to be called in as needed

Note: This position is on an as-needed basis, so availability may vary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $51,000.00 per year
