Bunker Surveyor

Primary responsibilities:

• Perform inspection jobs as assigned competently and efficiently.
• Carry out inspection at the highest quality and service level.
• Adhere to the company HSE policy all the time.

Specific responsibilities:

• Review of the job order upon receipt from the supervisor.
• Coordination with concerned parties for job update and arrangement.
• Carry out job assignment in accordance with the latest SGS standard, local authority requirements & client procedures.

1. Bunker Survey
2. Sampling Survey
3. R.O.B Survey
4. On/Off Hire Survey
5. Dispute Survey
6. Etc.

• Carry out job assignment in a safe manner (company HSE policy).
• Inform concern & respective parties of any discrepancy / non-compliance at earliest possible.
• Complete relevant report / documents for the job assignment.
• Submit report & samples to office upon job completion.
• Supervise and provide guidance to trainee or junior surveyors on job assignment.
• Assist in office duty / daily operation when required.
• To ensure compliance of MPA requirements & regulations.
• To monitor/maintain the validity of company sponsored relevant license and passes.
• To monitor/maintain the condition & calibration expiry date of company issued PPE & equipment.
• To perform any other task as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Diploma in maritime / shipping / petroleum industry
• Willing to work long and irregular hours
• Willing to work offshore when required
• Able to coordinate and be a team member towards a common goal
• Able to work independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously
• Able to interact with all levels of management, affiliates, suppliers and clients
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Acts quickly and decisively
• Works well under pressure
• Good command of the English language (spoken and written)
• Applies judgment and acts according to the SGS standards of ethics and integrity
