Burn Table Operator

JOB SUMMARY: The Plasma & Oxy Fuel Cutting Machine Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of a multi-purpose CNC controlled Hi Definition Plasma cutting machine used for steel plates.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Review drawings or operating program to obtain material size and type, set-up information for cutting sequencing to automatically cut material

· Select and install torch tips or nozzles, verify and adjust gas pressure, gas mixtures, arc amps, and voltages

· Inspect and remove finished parts from burning table

· Clean parts and mark part numbers

· Maintain a clean work environment and carry out assignments in a safe and efficient manner

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· 1 - 5 years’ experience with CNC/Plasma burning operations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) certification

· Prior welding experience

· Prior experience with CNC program editing

Essential Physical Functions Needed

· Ability to frequently lift/push/pull 45-50 pound objects

· Use of hands/fingers to grasp, pull, handle and manipulate parts and tools

· Ability to constantly stand and walk throughout the workday

· Frequent ability to sit at work station

· Exposure to noise, fumes and varying temperature

· Perform repetitive motions

· Hand-eye coordination

· Specific vision abilities

· Climb and work from ladders / stairs
