Bus Aide-Part time

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Bus Aide on a part-time basis. The Bus Aide will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during their transportation to and from school. This position requires excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to work collaboratively with both students and transportation staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist the bus driver in safely transporting students to and from school and designated locations.
• Ensure that all students are seated and wearing seatbelts at all times during transit.
• Monitor student behavior on the bus to promote a safe and respectful environment.
• Provide support to students with special needs, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Help students board and exit the bus safely, especially younger children or those with disabilities.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation issues or concerns.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or safety concerns to the bus driver or transportation supervisor promptly.
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment on the bus.
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required by the transportation department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working with children or in a similar role is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
• Must pass a background check and any required drug screenings.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.
• Ability to lift and assist students as needed.
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain certification.
