Bus & Facilities Cleaner

Position Summary: Performs cleaning duties to maintain the appearance of CARTS’ vehicles. Supports keeping the buildings and grounds in clean and orderly condition. This position is in the Vehicle Maintenance Center department.

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00a.m.– 4:00p.m.

Wage and Benefits: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Full-time employees (40 hours per week) receive dental and life insurance at no cost and medical at low cost ($70.00 per month).

Required Qualifications

• Current Texas Driver License with good driving record
• Ability to drive various types and sizes of vehicles within the property, including 40-foot buses (training on maneuvering vehicles will be provided)
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments
• Ability to show initiative in work approach; self-motivated to strive for excellent results
• Dependability- ability to be on-time and at work everyday

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
• Ability to walk and stand the entire work period
• Ability to repetitively bend or stoop
• Must be able to work outside year-round

Summary of Functions and Responsibilities

1. Washes buses and other vehicles.

• Cleans the exterior and interior of vehicles by hand
• Ensures the interior of vehicles are clean; performs sweeping, vacuuming, wiping and mopping
• Operates vehicle washing equipment- drive through automatic wash and a high-pressure wand

2. Safely uses and stores cleaning agents.

3. Drives and park vehicles as needed.

4. Uses good reasoning and sensibleness regarding safety. Reports to supervisor any possible safety risk to themselves, other employees or visitors.

5. Uses pressure washer to keep exterior areas clean.

6. Uses leaf blower.

7. Cleans office building windows.

8. May perform other janitorial duties.

9. Notifies supervisor of the observation of any serious repairs or problems needing correcting.

10. Performs related tasks as directed by supervisor.
