Bus Body Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Our client, a leading Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer, is hiring Bus Body Engineers for its bus body plants. You will bridge design and production: make sure bus body designs are built exactly as printed, resolve build issues fast, and run prototype fitment trials.

Open positions: 10 across Lucknow, Alwar, Vijayawada and Tiruchirappalli. This is an on-site plant role; relocation support is not offered, so apply only if you are based in or can join at these locations.

What you will do

• Resolve bus body build and assembly issues in prototype, pilot and production builds
• Work with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Suppliers to find root causes
• Give interim corrective actions that keep the line running; drive permanent fixes through design change management
• Correct BOM errors; integrate EBOM to MBOM for colour neutral parts
• Join build sign-off reviews at proto, pilot and production stages
• Verify parts and assemblies against specifications; close concerns through fitment trials and sign-off
• Recommend DFM, DFA and DFS improvements; support weight, cost and VAVE initiatives
• Maintain build issue trackers, lessons learned and technical reports

What we need

• BE / B.Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering
• 3 to 6 years of experience, with bus body design or build support
• Hands-on CATIA: 3D modelling, 3D annotation and 2D drafting
• PLM part release and engineering change management
• Sheet metal, welding and joining methods; GD&T
• Good to have: vehicle systems knowledge, DFMEA, homologation (AIS 052 / AIS 153)
