POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Job Title: Bus Driver (Anticipated)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary: Based on BCSS Salary Schedule

Expected Workday: 4 hours per day

Terms of Employment: 9-Month

Reports To: Director of Transportation

Job Goals:

· Maintains the safety of students on the bus

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED

· 1 years’ experience as a bus driver preferred

· Alabama Commercial CDL Driver’s License

· CDL With Endorsement for Air Brake, Passenger, and School Bus

· Alabama State Certification Card

· Attend 12 hours of class, Complete a Pre-Trip Inspection, Skills Test, Road Test, Drug Test

· Complete or have completed the fingerprinting and background check process

· Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

· Pre-trip inspections

· Post trip bus inspections

· Maintain discipline on the bus

· Maintain safe driving record

· Performs related work as required

· Inspects busses as required by Federal, State, and Local regulations

· Files necessary reports and maintains files

· Follow all school board policies

· Other duties as may be assigned by transportation supervisor

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boaz City Board of Education.
