Responsibilities

• Safely operate buses and other commercial vehicles on scheduled routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations
• Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical readiness
• Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, providing support to children, seniors, or individuals with disabilities as needed
• Communicate clearly with passengers using effective language skills; address questions or concerns professionally
• Manage behavior on board through positive behavior management techniques to maintain a safe environment
• Maintain accurate logs of trips, passenger counts, and any incidents that occur during transit
• Follow all safety protocols and report any vehicle issues or emergencies promptly to supervisors

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not required for all roles
• Proven experience in bus driving, including school bus driving or paratransit services
• Strong communication skills; ability to interact effectively with diverse passenger groups including children and seniors
• Mechanical knowledge of vehicle operation and basic troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work flexible hours and handle multiple responsibilities efficiently
• Multilingual abilities or bilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse communities
• Experience in childcare, teaching, or behavior management is advantageous for roles involving young passengers or special needs individuals

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
