Bus Driver

Role and Responsibilities

Employees are expected to:

• Drive between Victoria and Nanaimo
• Hold a valid BC driver’s license, Class 4 unrestricted minimum, Class 2 preferred
• Operate up to 24 passenger buses
• Complete all pre/post-trip inspections and the necessary paper work for submission monthly
• Meet and greet passengers for transport to and from Departure Bay, Nanaimo
• Work with the general public
• Drive in a safe and comfortable manner (max drive-time between breaks 2hrs)
• Computer skills to complete your daily ‘Reconciliation Report’ following each shift, at home
• Have the ability to lift 50 pounds and pack luggage
• Present a driver’s abstract and complete a criminal record check
• Utilize a Square payment system
• Utilize the GoMotive app
• Accept bus fares, when required, and report them accurately (Reconciliation Report)

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Candidates are expected to hold:

• Class 2 or 4 unrestricted BC license and are to fulfill all required inspections and paperwork.
• Basic mathematics
• Customer service background
• Basic computer literacy for:

1 - Obtaining the day’s driving shift instructions and daily passenger manifest

2 - Completion of a daily ‘Reconciliation Report’ at the end of the day

Reporting to your manager, you will utilize your core skills in commercial driving and communication to ensure a comfortable and secure journey for all riders. Your premium skills, such as experience with the general public will enhance interactions with diverse passenger groups. Pay: From $324.63 per day
