Bus Driver (INTERNAL ONLY)

Join Our Team as a Bus Driver! Bettendorf Community School District is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Bus Driver to join our team! This position plays an important role in providing safe and reliable transportation for students while maintaining a positive and welcoming environment.

Position: Bus Driver

Start Date: November 2026

Hours: Full Time /More than 30 hours per week

Rate of Pay: $22.60/hour

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience driving a bus preferred, but not required.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug test.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement. Paid training is available to qualified candidates.
• Must possess an excellent driving record.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide acceptable documentation for Form I-9 employment eligibility verification. Bettendorf Community School District participates in E-Verify.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to follow all safety regulations.
• Ability to perform and document routine vehicle inspections and maintenance activities.
• Ability to maintain a safe environment on the bus by enforcing rules of conduct and responding appropriately to emergencies.
• Ability to remain attentive to traffic and weather conditions while ensuring the safety of passengers.
• Knowledge of traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
