Bus Driver Route 8

The Park Rapids School District is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Bus Driver for Route 8. This full-time position is based at our Bus Garage, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient transportation for our passengers. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a commitment to customer service, and a strong understanding of safety regulations.

Monday thru Friday, 3.25 hours/day, September through May

Responsibilities

• Operate the bus along designated Route 8, adhering to scheduled stops and ensuring timely arrivals.
• Ensure the safety of all passengers by following traffic laws and safety protocols at all times.
• Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, including those with disabilities or special needs.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
• Maintain accurate records of passenger counts, incidents, and any maintenance issues.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and concerns professionally.
• Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues to management promptly.
• Attend training sessions and safety meetings as required to stay updated on regulations and best practices.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus interior and exterior.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
• Minimum of 2 years of driving experience, preferably in a bus or large vehicle.
• Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
