About you

You are a fun, energetic person who enjoys interacting with a variety of people. You’ll enjoy driving customers and instructors around some of New Zealand’s most spectacular scenic roads, while also being actively involved in supporting our skydiving operations.

This is a hands-on role that involves much more than driving. As well as transporting customers and instructors, you’ll be required to follow canopies after each jump, communicate with the pilot regarding the drop, and assist with catching canopies in windy conditions. You’ll need to be comfortable being active and working outdoors in a range of conditions.

• Be energetic, physically capable and comfortable with hands-on outdoor work
• Be comfortable walking, running and moving quickly when required to assist with canopy handling
• Have strong communication skills and be confident communicating with pilots, instructors, customers and the wider team
• Enjoy delivering amazing customer experiences
• Be alert and observant, with the ability to follow canopies and monitor skydiving operations
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Enjoy working as part of a dynamic and fast-paced team

You must have held a full New Zealand driver’s licence for at least 2 years and either hold a P2 (Passenger) Endorsement or be willing to obtain one.

About the role

We are looking for a Fixed Term Bus Driver to join our Skydive Wanaka team from November 2026 - 31 May 2027. You’ll transport customers and instructors between our Wanaka operations and landing area, while also providing hands-on support to our skydiving operation.

While driving is an important part of the role, this is not a sedentary bus-driving position. A significant part of your day will be spent outside supporting the operation and assisting with skydivers after they land.

Your responsibilities include:

• Safely transporting customers and instructors between the Drop Zone and landing area
• Picking up customers and instructors from the landing area after each jump and returning them to the Drop Zone
• Flight following skydiving canopies after each jump and maintaining awareness of their location
• Communicating with the pilot regarding the drop and providing relevant information as required
• Assisting with catching and securing canopies, particularly in windy conditions
• Being physically active and moving quickly when required to assist with canopy handling and other operational activities
• Providing friendly and professional customer service
• Ensuring vehicles are washed, clean, tidy and well presented before and after each trip
• Working closely with the Ground Operations Supervisor to provide effective operational support and ensure seamless day-to-day operations
• Assisting with other operational duties as required

This role is suited to someone who enjoys being active, working outdoors and getting involved in all aspects of the operation, rather than someone looking for a traditional driving-only position.
