Business Analyst – Card Systems

Behind every successful card journey, there is a complex ecosystem of systems, vendors, processes and people working together.

We’re looking for a Business Analyst – Card Systems (Issuing / Acquiring) to join our IT team and act as a key link between the Bank’s business teams, IT functions and external technology partners.

In this role, you will work across the full card lifecycle — covering card issuing, acquiring(POS, ATM, VPOS), transaction processing and related card services . You will translate business needs into clear technical requirements, coordinate delivery with third-party providers, drive testing and UAT, and support solutions through production and beyond.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be responsible for turning business needs into successfully delivered and stable card solutions. You will:

• Analyse and translate business requirements into clear functional specifications (FSD), including process flows, business rules, interfaces and acceptance criteria, covering both Issuing and Acquiring areas.
• Manage the end-to-end delivery with third-party technology providers , acting as the key point of contact for requirements, solution design, development, deliverables, timelines, dependencies, costs and open issues.
• Review vendor proposals and solution designs, coordinate cost estimates and approvals , and ensure that agreed requirements and scope are correctly delivered.
• Create and execute functional and integration test scenarios , validate delivered solutions against requirements, support business users during UAT , and follow up defects with vendors until resolution.
• Plan and coordinate production releases , ensuring technical and business readiness, dependencies, stakeholder communication and post-production monitoring.
• Investigate and follow up production incidents and defects , working with vendors and internal teams to identify root causes and ensure timely resolution.
• Monitor relevant Visa, Mastercard, NBR and other regulatory and scheme requirements , mandates and product releases, assess their impact and coordinate the required changes with business, IT and vendors.
• Maintain clear documentation and provide effective communication across business teams, IT and external vendors , while identifying opportunities to improve card processes, systems and ways of working.

What you bring

We’re looking for someone who combines strong business analysis skills, card systems knowledge across Issuing and Acquiring, and the ability to work effectively with technology vendors.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience as a Business Analyst , in the Card Systems domain (Issuing / Acquiring) .
• Good understanding of the card payments ecosystem , including Issuing(Debit\Credit cards) and Acquiring(POS, ATM and e-commerce\VPOS) systems.

• Knowledge of ISO 8583 and/or API-based integrations is a strong plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex processes and identify dependencies across systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with business teams, IT and external technology vendors .
• Fluent English .
• Proficiency with MS SQL, Jira, Confluence and similar collaboration tools.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Switch, Clearing/Settlement, Fraud Management or Campaign Management .
• Experience with Visa and/or Mastercard certification projects .
• Knowledge of HSM, Key Management, PCI DSS and payment security standards .
• Understanding of Mobile Banking and eBanking integrations .
