About the Role
Our client, a global technology company, is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to own requirements, roadmap, and backlog management for an Agile product team, as part of a newly forming Latin America delivery organization. You will act as the bridge between US-based business stakeholders, developers, and QA, ensuring that requirements are clear, current, and well understood across teams, and that each release is scoped and delivered with confidence.
Location & Work Arrangement
This is a remote-first position open to candidates based in Mexico or elsewhere in Latin America. Candidates must be able to work onsite in Mexico City at least once per month, and to attend quarterly in-person team events there. Candidates based in Mexico (Mexico City preferred) are prioritized for roles on the full-time conversion track; candidates elsewhere in Latin America are welcome for contract engagements. Legal authorization to work in the country of residence is required.
Engagement Model
The client is building a long-term Latin America engineering and applications presence, and these roles are foundational hires for that team. The preferred structure is contract-to-hire: an initial contract engagement of six to twelve months, followed by conversion to a permanent role for successful contributors. Direct full-time placement and longer-term independent contractor arrangements can be considered case by case. Compensation is competitive and based on seniority and skill set. Funding and headcount are approved, and start dates are immediate for candidates who are ready.
Collaboration & Communication
You will work day to day with US-based stakeholders and distributed teams in multiple regions, so fluent professional English and meaningful overlap with US business hours are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Own requirements management end to end: elicitation, clarification, documentation, and keeping requirements up to date.
- Maintain the product roadmap and track cross-team dependencies.
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog in partnership with product and engineering leads.
- Prepare release scope and supporting instructions as part of release management.
- Support developers by clarifying expected results, explaining requirements, and identifying end-user scenarios behind defects and features.
- Support QA by clarifying steps to reproduce, requirements, business cases, and complex test scenarios.
- Perform gap analysis between high-level and low-level requirements.
- Prepare start-of-sprint and mid-sprint reports covering release scope and status.
- Take on organizational activities such as facilitating meetings, substituting for the Scrum Master when needed, updating documents and processes, and driving new initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of solid, hands-on Business Analysis experience.
- Strong command of Business Analysis techniques and practices, including requirements identification and documentation.
- Strong facilitation and ownership skills.
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and Scrum.
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and requirements management tools.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and development methodologies.
- Ability to perform gap analysis and root cause analysis.
- Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the finance software domain.
- Experience contributing to the development of AI-powered features.
