Business Analyst

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong financial domain background to work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and product owners to understand business needs, analyze financial processes, and translate requirements into clear functional solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from finance and business stakeholders.
• Understand and analyze financial processes, workflows, and business operations.
• Prepare BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Work with stakeholders to identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation or improvement.
• Perform data analysis and support reconciliation, reporting, and financial analytics requirements.
• Collaborate with development, QA, data, and application teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Support requirement clarification, UAT planning, test-case validation, and defect resolution.
• Translate complex financial requirements into clear and actionable technology requirements.
• Support process mapping, impact analysis, gap analysis, and solution evaluation.
• Coordinate with business stakeholders during implementation, releases, and post-production support.
• Ensure requirements align with applicable financial controls, policies, risk, and compliance requirements.
• Prepare status reports, dashboards, and presentations for business and management stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within financial services.
• Strong understanding of finance and accounting concepts.
• Experience working with financial processes such as P&L, balance sheet, general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, or reconciliation.
• Strong requirements-gathering and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and/or Waterfall methodologies.
• Hands-on experience creating user stories, process flows, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of Excel and experience with data analysis; knowledge of SQL, Power BI, or other reporting tools is desirable.
• Experience working with enterprise financial applications or ERP systems is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
• MBA Finance, CA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent financial qualification is preferred.
• Experience in banking, insurance, asset management, payments, fintech, or other financial services organizations is an advantage.
