What they need

Title: Business Analyst, Data & Operations

Department: Research Operations

Reports To: VP of Operations

Job Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Job Classification: Mid-Level | Hybrid (Onsite required at office)

Company Overview

Aton Health is a physician-led, patient-first clinical research company rethinking how evidence is generated in modern healthcare. Instead of treating trials as separate from care, we embed research directly into real-world clinical workflows, helping sponsors and specialty practices accelerate enrollment, improve study execution, and generate high-quality, audit-ready evidence at scale. Our model depends on operational precision and regulatory rigor. We’re building a team that takes pride in running studies the right way and where compliance isn’t a checkpoint, but a standard embedded in every aspect of execution.

Position Summary

Aton Health is seeking a Business Analyst to turn operational data into insight that drives smarter decisions across our Research Operations team. This role is responsible for building the requirements for reporting, dashboards, and analysis that help leadership track enrollment, study execution, and site performance, and for surfacing the trends and patterns that inform how we run our business. Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Business Analyst will partner with research coordinators, sponsors, and cross-functional teams to translate raw data into clear recommendations that improve enrollment, protocol adherence, and audit readiness across our research sites. This is a hybrid role requiring regular onsite time to work directly with site teams and understand the operations behind the data.

Key Responsibilities

· Analyze operational and study data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that inform business decisions

· Design, build, and maintain dashboards and recurring reports that give leadership visibility into enrollment, protocol milestones, and site performance

· Develop models and forecasts (e.g., enrollment pacing, site capacity, resource needs) to support planning and decision-making

· Own data quality and integrity across key operational systems, ensuring metrics are accurate, well-documented, and audit-ready

· Translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations and present them to research operations leadership and cross-functional stakeholders

· Evaluate and help implement analytics tools and reporting infrastructure (e.g., BI platforms, data pipelines) that improve how the business uses data

· Coordinate cross-functionally with quality, regulatory, and IT teams on process changes and system updates

· Maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials related to site workflows

Qualifications

Required

· Bachelor's degree in business, health administration, life sciences, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

· 3-5 years of experience as a business analyst, operations analyst, or similar role

· Demonstrated ability to analyze operational data and translate findings into business recommendations

· Strong proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with BI/reporting platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and advanced Excel

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical or research detail for varied audiences

· High attention to detail and comfort working with compliance-driven documentation

Preferred

  • Experience working within a clinical research organization (CRO), specialty practice, or healthcare operations setting
  • Familiarity with clinical trial processes, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, or regulatory/audit requirements
  • Experience with EDC, CTMS, or other clinical research systems
  • Project management experience or certification (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma)

Competencies

  • Strong data fluency and comfort working hands-on with large or messy datasets
  • Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Clear, collaborative communication across research and operational teams
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving research environment
  • Sound judgment when navigating compliance and regulatory considerations

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
  • Cross-functional collaboration with research and operations teams
  • High emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
  • Hybrid role, with regular onsite time at the Aton Health office; minimal physical requirements
