Business Analyst

Job Summary

Techwave Technologies is seeking a technically strong Business Analyst to support a banking and financial services project. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, operations, data teams, and technology teams to gather requirements, analyze business processes, define functional requirements, and deliver data-driven solutions.

The role requires strong knowledge of banking operations, financial products, SQL, data analysis, reporting, Agile methodologies, and SDLC . The candidate should be comfortable translating business requirements into technical specifications and supporting solutions through development, testing, and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, document, and validate business requirements from banking and financial-services stakeholders.
• Conduct requirements elicitation, stakeholder interviews, workshops, process walkthroughs, and gap analysis.
• Create and maintain BRDs, FRDs, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and process flows.
• Analyze banking processes including retail banking, deposits, loans, payments, transactions, customer onboarding, account servicing, and financial operations.
• Perform AS-IS and TO-BE process analysis and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Write complex SQL queries to extract, validate, reconcile, and analyze financial and operational data.
• Analyze transaction, customer, account, payment, loan, and operational datasets to identify trends, exceptions, and business issues.
• Develop and maintain business and operational reports, dashboards, KPIs, and performance metrics using tools such as Power BI or Excel.
• Work with technical teams to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Support data mapping, source-to-target mapping, data validation, and reconciliation activities.
• Collaborate with developers, data engineers, QA teams, product managers, and business stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
• Create detailed user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira and support backlog refinement and sprint planning.
• Develop and execute UAT test scenarios, test cases, and validation scripts.
• Coordinate UAT with business users and document defects, resolutions, and test results.
• Perform root cause analysis for data, reporting, process, and application-related issues.
• Support production implementation, post-production validation, issue resolution, and business sign-off.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual processes, and improve data quality.
• Prepare business presentations, management reports, process documentation, and project status updates.
