Business Analyst

I. JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for facilitating the interaction across business and IT personnel, to support and ensure the successful delivery of technology solutions as per approved business requirements submitted by business users.

Gathers and analyzes business requirements, formulates objectives, and translates them into the most efficient and effective design of the system.

Elicits, analyzes, specifies, and validates the business needs on systems utilized.

Applies proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help support the development process through careful testing to ensure that project & change request deliverables are met according to specifications in order to maximize the benefits of business investments.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Monitors engagement with stakeholders in defining requirements

2. Assists the Project Manager in facilitating discussions and meetings with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business and operations requirements and systems goals

3. Performs prototyping (e.g. storyboarding, navigation flow, paper prototyping, screen flows), creating value for stakeholders such as business owners and end users who may not understand all of the technical aspects of requirements, but will better relate to a visual representation of the end product

4. Prepares Business Requirement Document (BRD) that captures and records the business requirements, which includes documentation of the new business process flows written in business terminology if the requirements will cause creation or revision of a business process 5. Acts as the conduit between Infrastructure and Operations Division of DSG, the Bank's Business Units, and outsourced provider (if applicable) to ensure that the deliverables meet the requirements, including undertaking gap analysis and other industry methodologies/standard tools, along with identifying opportunities where new and existing technologies can be used to improve business efficiency and service performance

5. Manages and tracks assigned change requests. Endorses Change Request applications for testing to Production Support and Quality Assurance

6. Provides assistance and facilitates walkthroughs for Production Support / Quality Assurance prior and during testing.

7. Prepares periodic reports on project status, progress, risks, deadlines and resource requirements.

8. Manages functional capacity:

a. Maintains vendor relationships with whom the business analyst and/or process engineer consultant engagements are contemplated or in effect

b. Rationalizes and continuously improves demand inflow by:

i. Consolidating change requests into releases for streamlining delivery,

ii. Identifying opportunities to empower business users to effect minor, client-specific changes

iii. Identifying disparate use cases for which a previously available solution may be recycled

10. Manages knowledge pool:

a. Acts as primary source of information and data for the covered business unit, ensuring IT documentation succinctly contains process, policy, people, program, and product knowledge. Provides input and direction for the business to craft cases to support a project approval request.

b. Reviews business requirements documents submitted by other BAs, and perform periodic sampling-based quality assessments on other BA deliverables
