Business Analyst

Our client is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join their Group Change Department in Douglas, Isle of Man. This role plays a critical part in driving transformational change and delivering measurable value across the business. You will collaborate with project managers, stakeholders, and third-party partners to define goals, prioritise outcomes, and ensure successful delivery from the discovery phase through implementation. The position is full-time and offers a dynamic opportunity to influence business processes and improve operational efficiency. The successful candidate will bring their analytical skills and commercial mindset to shape compelling business cases and support strategic decision-making.

JOB DUTIES:

• Shape compelling business cases and articulate clear problem statements that focus on measurable business value and customer outcomes.
• Map as-is and to-be processes, identifying gaps, dependencies, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement.
• Elicit, analyse, and document clear business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting artefacts for agile and hybrid delivery teams.
• Conduct data analysis to uncover opportunities and inform decision-making.
• Complete gap analysis, impact assessments, and options analysis to facilitate informed decision-making and delivery planning.
• Provide business analysis support across software development, testing, data migration, upgrades, release readiness, and implementation activity.
• Collaborate closely with business users, project managers, IT teams, third parties, and outsource providers to maintain alignment and delivery momentum.
• Support sprint refinement, backlog prioritisation, UAT planning, test preparation, and business validation to ensure solutions are ready for adoption.
• Help teams embed change by supporting communication, training, adoption planning, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior members of the team and contribute to best practices within the change team.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• A minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the life assurance industry.
• Demonstrated analytical skills with a sharp problem-solving mindset and critical thinking abilities.
• A proven track record in supporting business improvement, operational efficiencies, and technology-enabled change.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks, including financial reporting and risk management.
• Experience with data modelling, API integrations, and file transfer processes.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner to delivery teams, sponsors, and stakeholders.
• Proficient facilitation, presentation, and writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a project team or independently, building trusted relationships across all business levels.
• Hands-on experience in Agile, Scrum, product-led or hybrid delivery environments.
• A collaborative mindset with the confidence to navigate ambiguity, challenge constructively, and support continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft products (e.g., Excel, Visio, SQL, DevOps).
• Possession of a relevant professional qualification (or progress towards one), such as the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis, is desirable.
