Business Analyst (Financial-focus)

ROLE PURPOSE

The Business Analyst (Finance) is responsible for supporting pricing analysis, cost modelling, scenario simulations, financial analysis, GP-level validation, business performance tracking, and management reporting.

This role acts as a key interface between Finance, Business, and Operations, translating financial data into clear, actionable insights while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and commercial clarity across reporting and decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial & GP Analysis

• Support Finance in reviewing GP-level data, including revenue and cost components.
• Assist in monthly variance analysis (actual vs budget, forecast, and prior periods).
• Identify and flag unusual movements, inconsistencies, or data gaps for further review.
• Ensure operational and business data are accurately aligned with GL reporting.

Pricing Analysis & Cost Modelling

• Support pricing analysis by evaluating cost structures and margin implications.

• Assist in cost modelling for products, services, or projects.

• Prepare scenario simulations to assess financial impact of pricing, volume, or cost changes.

• Provide analytical input to support commercial decision-making.

Business Performance Tracking

• Track key financial and business performance metrics across functions.
• Support analysis of revenue, cost drivers, and profitability by business unit, product, or project.
• Assist in identifying performance gaps and improvement opportunities.

Management Reporting

• Prepare management reports and analysis decks with clear financial insights.
• Translate financial data into concise explanations of trends, variances, and risks.
• Support ad-hoc financial analysis requested by management or Finance.

Budgeting & Forecasting Support

• Support budgeting and forecasting exercises by preparing analysis and supporting schedules.
• Track actual vs budget vs forecast and assist in explaining variances.
• Assist in monitoring OPEX, headcount cost, and key expense categories.

Data Accuracy & Financial Discipline

• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of financial data used for reporting.
• Adhere to standard financial definitions, assumptions, and reporting frameworks.
• Maintain proper documentation of assumptions, models, and analysis.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Finance, Business, and Operations teams to gather and validate data.
• Support Finance in responding to business queries on financial performance.
• Participate in cross-functional discussions to provide financial analysis support.
