Business Analyst General Insurance

About the role

Skitech Solutions Sdn Bhd is seeking a Business Analyst General Insurance to join our dynamic Information & Communication Technology team. This is a full-time position based in Kuala Lumpur City Centre. As a Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring that systems and processes effectively support our general insurance operations. This position is strategically important to our organisation, as it directly impacts our ability to deliver innovative solutions and maintain competitive advantage in the insurance sector.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyse business requirements from general insurance stakeholders, including underwriting, claims, and operations teams
• Translate complex business needs into clear technical specifications and functional requirements for development teams
• Conduct thorough process analysis and workflow mapping to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for system improvement
• Collaborate with IT professionals to design and implement solutions tailored to general insurance business requirements
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including business requirements documents, use cases, and process flows
• Facilitate workshops and meetings with key business stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities and coordinate feedback from business users
• Monitor system performance post-implementation and recommend enhancements based on user feedback and business metrics
• Stay current with general insurance industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies
• Provide ongoing support and training to business users on implemented systems and processes

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the insurance industry
• Demonstrated knowledge of general insurance products, underwriting processes, claims management, and regulatory compliance requirements
• Strong proficiency in requirements elicitation, documentation, and process modelling techniques
• Experience with business analysis tools and software, such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, or similar platforms
• Proficiency in SQL and database concepts to support data analysis and testing activities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Problem-solving mindset with strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
• Certification in business analysis (such as IIBA CBAP or ECBA) is advantageous
• Experience with insurance software systems or platforms is highly preferred
