Business Analyst - Microsoft Dynamics 365

Our client is undertaking a major business and technology transformation within a highly regulated environment.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with proven Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience to support the delivery of improved business processes, systems and customer outcomes.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can work confidently across business and technology teams, bring structure to ambiguity, and translate complex business needs into practical, deliverable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead business analysis activities across Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation, enhancement or transformation initiatives.
• Analyse and document current-state AS-IS processes, pain points, control gaps and business objectives.
• Facilitate workshops to define future-state TO-BE processes, operating models and solution requirements.
• Elicit, analyse and document functional and non-functional requirements, business rules, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Map business processes using BPMN 2.0 or an equivalent process modelling standard.
• Translate business needs into D365 capabilities, identifying fit-gap, configuration, integration, data and reporting impacts.
• Work closely with business SMEs, project teams, solution architects, developers, testers and delivery partners.
• Manage engagement with vendors, system integrators and implementation partners, including reviewing deliverables, resolving issues and clarifying scope.
• Produce high-quality documentation including requirements specifications, process maps, workshop outputs, decision logs, traceability matrices and UAT materials

What you will bring

1. Recent, hands-on experience working as a Senior Business Analyst on Microsoft Dynamics 365 / D365 initiatives.
2. Experience with one or more relevant D365 products, such as Dynamics 365 CE/CRM, Finance & Operations or Business Central.
3. Proven experience analysing AS-IS processes and designing practical TO-BE processes.
4. Strong requirements elicitation skills using interviews, workshops, observation and process walkthroughs.
5. Excellent documentation capability, including requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules and traceability.
6. Practical BPMN 2.0 or equivalent process mapping experience, using tools such as Visio, Signavio, Miro or similar.
7. Strong workshop facilitation skills, with the ability to achieve clarity, agreement and informed decisions.
8. Demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills across operational, executive, technology, risk and compliance groups.

Experience in at least one highly regulated industry is essential, such as electricity, gas, water, banking, financial services, government or similar.

Desirable experience

• Microsoft Power Platform, Dataverse, Power BI or Azure integration.
• Data migration, systems integration, testing and cutover activities.
• Agile, hybrid or structured project delivery environments.
• Dynamics 365 or related Microsoft certifications.
• Experience working within regulated governance, risk and compliance frameworks.
