What they need
Business Analyst – Private Equity Valuations
Role Overview
As a Business Analyst within the Private Equity (PE) Valuations team, you will act as the critical bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams. You will own the end-to-end process mapping, data schema documentation, and human-in-the-loop workflow designs for data-intensive financial valuation tools.
- Role Type: Business Analyst
- Experience Required: 10+ Years
Key Responsibilities
Workflow & Process Design
- Own the process mapping for the end-to-end multiple determination workflow, including inputs, transformations, outputs, and dependencies between stories.
- Design human-in-the-loop review gates, defining what information is surfaced to analysts, how overrides are captured, and how analyst sign-off flows through the system.
- Coordinate with Crystal and deal teams on structured data entry mechanisms and unstructured input formats.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
- Liaise between the engineering team and PE Valuations / Valuation Group stakeholders to resolve open design decisions (e.g., smoothing policy, PitchBook feasibility, and Athena timing gaps).
- Define and refine acceptance criteria for each user story in collaboration with the PE Valuations team, ensuring outputs perfectly match deal team model expectations.
Data Governance & System Validation
- Manage the Data Schema reference document, covering field definitions, mandatory vs. optional classifications, source hierarchy rules, and controlled vocabularies (Sector, Subsector, Business Model, Geography).
- Define configurable parameters—such as tolerance thresholds, recency windows, and EBITDA margin thresholds—and document their structural rationale.
- Validate prototype outputs against real deal team models to ensure mathematical accuracy and complete auditability.
Required Skills & QualificationsDomain & Technical Expertise
- PE Valuations: Deep domain knowledge of trading comps, precedent transactions, Enterprise Value (EV) bridges, and multiple selection.
- Data & Business Analysis: Strong capability in writing structured requirements, business analysis, and defining acceptance criteria for financial tools.
- Technical Proficiencies: Experience with BI Data Visualization tools (Tableau), PL/SQL, and data modelling/schema design (JSON output structures, rolling records).
Compliance & Testing
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with IFRS fair value measurement and stringent audit-readiness requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Proven experience in UAT coordination and test case design specifically geared for financial accuracy validation.
Soft Skills
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities across cross-functional deal teams, valuation groups, and engineering departments.
Pay: $65.00-$75.00 per hour
