Business Controller

Responsibilities:

Commercial

• Head the Commercial team in all aspects of commercial-related project management, from the pre-tender and tender stages through to post-tender activities for business projects.
• Lead and manage the commercial aspects of the equipment sales process, taking into consideration all internal and external compliance requirements and risk factors, including the use of the internal control system (IKS) or the 4-eye principle.
• Support multinational projects from inception to finalisation, focusing on commercial aspects of project management.
• Take overall responsibility for contract terms and conditions, contract analysis, and active claim management to prevent and pursue claims for business projects.
• Ensure overall compliance with business projects.

Accounting

• Oversee accounts receivable management, and supervise full sets of accounts and audit management.
• Coordinate and resolve all commercial-related issues with relevant departments, from Engineering and Workshop Assembly to Field Services, across all areas.
• Act as an active business partner across business fields and various operational areas.
• Knowledge of trade securities is required.

Financial and Management

• Work with the overseas Senior Management team to set financial targets and budget development goals, and monitor progress throughout the financial year.
• Take overall responsibility for treasury management within the subsidiary, including liquidity management, cash management, and banking relationships.
• Prepare forecasts for project-related businesses and plan cost centres at the business-unit level.
• Analyse project reports to provide suggestions for future improvements and identify key drivers for business planning and decision-making.
• Monitor the performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for the Senior Management team.
• Take overall responsibility for year-end closing.

Others

• Be responsible for generating and implementing cross-functional synergies and identifying areas for improvement in internal processes.
• Ensure a competitive cost structure and process efficiency within commercial operations to maintain a vibrant manufacturing location.
• Oversee central functions, including FICO (Finance/Controlling), Compliance & Legal, company secretarial matters, HR, Administration, and IT.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Management, Finance, or an MBA, with CPA/ACCA accreditation.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in commercial leadership, leading and managing a team.
• Hands-on experience in budget management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills required.
• SAP knowledge is preferred.
• Good knowledge of performance reporting and financial and budgeting processes.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Ability to collaborate and coordinate with diverse teams across the organisation, including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Production, After-Sales, and Field Services.
