Business Controller

For the internal structures of EWL Recruitment Solutions SRL (part of EWL Group) we are looking for Business Controller .

As the sole finance business partner for Romania, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial data, supporting commercial decisions, and driving financial discipline across the business. You will work closely with local leadership while being part of an international finance organization reporting to Group Controlling in Poland.

YOUR TASKS:

• Ensure accurate allocation of costs to projects and cost centers.
• Monitor project profitability and support margin analysis.
• Coordinate monthly closing activities with the local accounting provider.
• Prepare management and statutory reporting packages for Group Controlling.
• Act as the main finance contact for the Romanian business.
• Partner with Sales and Operations teams on profitability, pricing, and commercial decisions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
• Manage relationships with local banks and factoring partners.
• Verify payment requests and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Contribute to process improvements, financial governance, and reporting quality

OUR REQUIREMENTS:

• 4-7+ years of experience in Controlling, Operational Finance, Financial Analysis, or Project Controlling.
• Proven experience with cost allocation, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end closing.
• Strong understanding of Romanian accounting principles and basic tax regulations.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Power Query, financial modelling).
• Experience working closely with business stakeholders, especially Sales and Operations teams.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines independently.
• Romanian language proficiency (native or fluent) and English at minimum C1 level.
• University degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.ACCA, CIMA, CFA or similar qualifications will be considered an advantage.
