Business Data Analyst- Expert SQL and Snowflake

Infinite Tek is seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst to support enterprise data and analytics initiatives within a large financial services environment.

This role will serve as a bridge between business and technology teams, helping translate business needs into data requirements, analyze complex datasets, improve data quality, and support enterprise reporting and data governance initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience working with business and enterprise data, strong hands-on SQL skills, and experience within banking or financial services .

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand data, reporting, and analytical requirements.

• Translate business requirements into detailed data and functional requirements for technology and data teams.

• Analyze complex datasets using SQL to identify trends, discrepancies, exceptions, and data-quality issues.

• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis across multiple systems and data sources.

• Work with enterprise data warehouse and data lake environments to support business reporting and analytics.

• Collaborate with data engineering and ETL teams to understand and validate data transformations.

• Define and document business rules, data definitions, mappings, and transformation requirements .

• Create and maintain source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, data lineage, and requirements documentation .

• Support enterprise data governance and data-quality initiatives.

• Assist business teams with month-end, regulatory, operational, and management reporting validation.

• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data accuracy, and overall data usability.

• Work across business, technology, risk, finance, operations, and data teams to resolve data-related issues.

• Develop reports, dashboards, and analytical insights to support business decision-making.

• Communicate complex data findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

- 10+ years of experience as a Business Data Analyst, Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Data Management Analyst, or similar role.

• Strong experience gathering and documenting business and data requirements .

• Advanced hands-on SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and reconciliation.

• Experience working with enterprise data warehouses and/or data lakes .

• Strong understanding of ETL, data transformation, data mapping, and data integration .

• Experience with data quality, profiling, reconciliation, and issue resolution .

• Experience documenting data lineage, source-to-target mappings, business rules, and data definitions .

• Strong understanding of relational databases and large enterprise datasets.

• Ability to communicate effectively between business stakeholders and technical teams.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Banking or financial services experience .

• Experience working with regulatory, risk, finance, or enterprise reporting data.

• Experience with Snowflake .

• Experience working in an AWS environment.

• Knowledge of enterprise data governance and data management practices.

• Experience working with complex, cross-functional enterprise data initiatives.
