What they need
Think bigger. Work smarter. Grow with eMaxx.
At eMaxx, we’re not just building a company—we’re building a smarter, more innovative way to approach insurance. We’re growing, thinking differently, and looking for talented people who want to be part of something with momentum. If you’re ready to bring your expertise, challenge the status quo, and grow alongside a team that values what you bring to the table, we’d love to meet you.
Position Description:
The Business Development Associate is responsible for originating new commercial Property & Casualty business, expanding relationships with existing accounts and referral partners, and driving profitable premium growth. This role owns the full sales cycle—from prospecting and needs analysis through proposal, bind, and ongoing account stewardship—while representing eMaxx with a consultative, client first approach.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across commercial and personal Property & Casualty lines (e.g., property, general liability, auto, workers’ compensation, umbrella, package, and specialty coverages as authorized).
- Build and manage a consistent pipeline through outbound prospecting, centers of influence, networking, digital outreach, and community involvement.
- Conduct discovery meetings to assess risk exposures, coverage gaps, and business objectives; translate findings into tailored insurance solutions.
- Prepare and present proposals, coverage comparisons, and renewal strategies; negotiate terms with underwriters and markets to deliver competitive, appropriate coverage.
- Close new business and retain existing accounts by delivering timely service, policy reviews, and proactive risk-management recommendations.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management or related field
- A minimum of two years’ experience in sales, insurance, or financial services preferred
- Understanding of commercial insurance or alternative risk structures is beneficial.
- Exposure to insurance systems, CRM tools, or operational reporting tools is helpful.
Licensure:
A Property & Casualty (P&C) producer license is required to sell. Candidates who do not already hold a license must obtain the appropriate state P&C license within a defined period after hire. Licensing study time and exam fees may be supported per company policy.
