Business Development Head

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Head to join LEC Steel Manufacturing Corp. in Quezon City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of our business within the steel manufacturing sector. As Business Development Head, you will be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships, and leading the development of new business initiatives that align with our company's long-term objectives. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's trajectory and success in an increasingly competitive market.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and pursue new business opportunities and market segments within the steel manufacturing and related industries
• Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve revenue growth targets and expand market share
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, suppliers and stakeholders to support business expansion
• Lead the negotiation and closure of new business contracts and agreements with commercial partners
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decision-making and identify emerging trends
• Prepare compelling business proposals, presentations and pitches to prospective clients and partners
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, operations, finance and marketing to ensure successful implementation of new business initiatives
• Monitor and report on business development performance metrics, KPIs and pipeline forecasts
• Travel as required to meet with clients, attend industry events and explore new markets and opportunities

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5-7 years of proven experience in business development, sales management or similar roles, ideally within the steel manufacturing, heavy industry or engineering sectors
• Demonstrated track record of successfully identifying, pursuing and closing new business opportunities with significant revenue impact
• Strong understanding of the steel manufacturing industry, market dynamics, supply chains and customer requirements
• Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to build and nurture partnerships at all levels
• Strategic thinking capability combined with strong commercial acumen and business negotiation expertise
• Proficiency in market research, competitor analysis and opportunity assessment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively within a team environment
• Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering or a related field is preferred
• Proficiency in English and Filipino languages
