Then this opportunity could be perfect for you...if you've got what it takes!
We are a well-established, Kiwi-owned and operated commercial painting company working across Auckland. We deliver quality commercial painting and property maintenance services, and we're looking for an experienced BDM to help us continue growing our business.
We're looking for someone who is confident, driven, relationship-focused, and knows how to turn opportunities into results.
Here's why working with us could be your next great career move
- You'll be working with an awesome team of people in a growing company.
- Competitive base salary plus commission.
- An opportunity to make a genuine impact on business growth.
- Build on existing industry relationships and develop new client opportunities.
- Work with a diverse range of commercial and property clients across Auckland.
- A supportive team culture where collaboration and follow-through matter.
- The opportunity to grow alongside a business that values quality and long-term client relationships.
What you'll be doing
- Generating new business: Identifying and pursuing new opportunities across the commercial painting and property maintenance sectors.
- Building relationships: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with property managers, building owners, and prospective clients.
- Leveraging your network: Using your existing industry contacts and connections to identify potential projects and business opportunities.
- Lead generation: Proactively sourcing new leads while following up on opportunities provided by us.
- Following up and closing sales: Managing prospects throughout the sales process, from initial contact through to securing the work.
- Client meetings and site visits: Meeting with clients to understand their requirements and identify suitable solutions.
- Project handover: Working closely with the Operations team to ensure a smooth and well-organised handover of secured projects.
- Business growth: Identifying opportunities to strengthen our client base, generate repeat business, and contribute to the continued growth of the company.
Here's what we need from you
- Proven experience in business development or sales, with a track record of generating and closing new business.
- A strong existing network of property managers, building owners, and relevant industry contacts.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Confidence in prospecting, presenting proposals, negotiating, and closing deals.
- A proactive approach to lead generation and business development.
- Strong follow-up skills and the ability to manage opportunities through to completion.
- A results-driven mindset with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the Operations team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A valid driver's licence and the ability to travel to client sites across Auckland.
Experience in the commercial painting or construction industry?
Industry experience in commercial painting, construction, property maintenance, facilities management, or a related sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
What's most important is your sales experience, proven ability to win new business, and the relationships you bring to the role.
You should understand how to identify opportunities, build trust with clients, and convert conversations into signed projects.
About you
We're looking for someone who is confident, motivated, and genuinely enjoys working with people.
You know how to open doors, build relationships, and turn opportunities into results. You take ownership of your pipeline, follow up on commitments, and understand that successful business development is about building long-term relationships, not just making a quick sale.
You'll be joining a team where communication, reliability, quality, and teamwork matter. We want someone who will take pride in representing the company and play an important role in helping us grow.
If you're ready for a fresh challenge and believe you've got what it takes, we'd love to hear from you.

If you think you've got what it takes, apply now by emailing your CV and a brief covering letter telling us why you're the right person for this role and what you can bring to the business.
