Role Summary
Senior Business Development professional with 8-10 years of experience in CRO/business development, focused on driving revenue growth, strategic account expansion, and new client acquisition for Vimta's pre-clinical business across Europe. The role will position Vimta's integrated capabilities across Pharmacology, DMPK, Safety Pharmacology, Toxicology, Bioanalysis, pathology, GLP analytical support, IND-enabling studies, and regulatory data packages while owning Europe territory targets, pipeline conversion, and key-account growth across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, agrochemical, specialty chemical, and emerging biopharma customers.
Core Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver annual and quarterly sales targets for the Europe territory across Vimta's pre-clinical research services through new business acquisition, account expansion, and high-value study wins with European Pharma, Biotech, agrochemical, specialty chemical, and drug-discovery clients
  • Manage the full sales cycle with revenue accountability: prospecting, lead qualification, client engagement, scientific scoping, RFP/RFQ strategy, proposal follow-up, pricing coordination, negotiation, contract closure, and booking conversion
  • Build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline for pre-clinical offerings including general toxicology, safety pharmacology, DMPK/ADME, pharmacology models, bioanalysis, dose formulation analysis, impurity qualification, IND-enabling studies, SEND/eCTD-ready data support, and GLP analytical services
  • Lead commercially focused proposal development with toxicology, pharmacology, bioanalytical, pathology, quality assurance, regulatory, finance, and operations teams to improve win probability, pricing competitiveness, margin discipline, and turnaround time
  • Develop and execute Europe key-account growth plans to increase wallet share, repeat business, program-level engagements, preferred-partner positioning, and cross-selling of Vimta's integrated drug-discovery and development services
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, opportunity trackers, funnel health, conversion metrics, and management reports while proactively addressing pipeline gaps to meet quarterly and annual revenue targets
  • Identify and pursue large-value strategic opportunities across Europe, including master service agreements, preferred-provider arrangements, repeat-study packages, and multi-country sponsor relationships to accelerate revenue growth
  • Map and prioritize Europe territory segments, including the UK, Germany, Switzerland, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Nordics, Italy, Spain, and other priority markets based on sponsor concentration, outsourcing potential, and conversion probability
  • Represent Vimta at European industry conferences, client meetings, scientific forums, and partnering events with emphasis on GLP-compliant, OECD-aligned, and globally acceptable pre-clinical data

Required Experience & Skills

  • 8-10 years of Business Development experience in CRO, pre-clinical research, toxicology, bioanalytical, drug-discovery, or life-sciences services, with demonstrated ownership of revenue targets and strategic account growth
  • Strong understanding of the pre-clinical drug-development pathway, including pharmacology, DMPK/ADME, safety pharmacology, toxicology, bioanalysis, pathology, and IND-enabling study requirements
  • Proven experience handling scientific RFPs, study-costing inputs, pricing coordination, scope clarification, and commercial negotiations
  • Strong track record of building, progressing, and closing pre-clinical CRO opportunities, including repeat business, key-account penetration, high-value proposals, and revenue growth from pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sponsors
  • Ability to define Europe territory plans, country-level account strategies, revenue forecasts, prospecting priorities, competitor mapping, and deal-conversion actions aligned with business targets
  • Excellent client-facing, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with European and global clients and awareness of GLP, OECD, EMA expectations, IND/NDA submission pathways, SEND, eCTD, and global regulatory data-package requirements preferred
  • Willingness to travel across Europe for client meetings, conferences, site visits, and strategic account reviews; ability to work effectively across time zones with India-based scientific and operations teams

Ideal Candidate Background

  • Currently working in a pre-clinical CRO, toxicology, pharmacology, DMPK/ADME, bioanalytical, or drug-discovery services organization with clear exposure to sponsor-facing business development
  • Has a strong network with European pharmaceutical, biotechnology, agrochemical, specialty chemical, and emerging biopharma companies that require GLP-compliant pre-clinical studies, OECD-aligned study designs, and globally acceptable regulatory data packages
  • Demonstrates a proven ability to convert scientific discussions into qualified opportunities, repeat studies, strategic accounts, revenue growth, and long-term client partnerships
  • Comfortable engaging with R&D, toxicology, pharmacology, regulatory, procurement, and senior management stakeholders during early-stage discovery and development discussions
  • Commercially mature, target-driven, and capable of managing large-value European opportunities, annual account plans, pipeline reviews, forecasts, pricing discussions, competitor positioning, and cross-border stakeholder engagement
