The role develops relationships and promotes the business nationally by meeting customers, visiting sites, seeking out and developing new contacts, and representing the Restek brand at industry events and in industry media.

The role also provides technical sales support, contributing to technical bid writing where necessary and ensuring that proposed solutions flow through from enquiry to order, particularly on smaller projects and schemes such as insurance claims.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer relationships and field sales

  • Develop and maintain customer relationships nationally, acting as a regular and visible point of contact for Restek.
  • Attend customer meetings, and carry out site visits where necessary, to understand customer requirements and advise on suitable Restek solutions.
  • Seek out and develop new contacts and leads across Restek's service provision.
  • Promote the full range of Restek services, including ground remediation by resin injection, deep depth GPR surveys, concrete repair, structural strengthening, waterproofing and surface coatings.
  • Follow up enquiries, meetings and quotations promptly, and record contacts, visits and opportunities on the company CRM system.

  • Represent Restek at industry events, exhibitions and conferences, providing a presence on the day and own preparation and follow-up.
  • Contribute to industry media, such as Ground Engineering and Construction News, through articles, case studies and technical comment.
  • Support marketing activity, including case studies from completed projects, CPD presentations and social media content.

Technical sales and proposals

  • Ensure the flow-through of proposed solutions from enquiry and site visit to quotation, award and handover to the operations team, particularly on smaller projects and schemes such as insurance claims with repeat business.
  • Gather the site information needed for surveys, quotations and proposals, including photographs, measurements, accesses and previous data and records.
  • Work with the technical and operations teams so that proposed solutions are practical, clearly explained to the customer and delivered as agreed.
  • Support technical bid writing where necessary, contributing customer insight, site information and technical input.
  • Keep customers informed from quotation through to completion, and gather feedback once work is complete.

General

  • Feed back market intelligence, including customer needs and competitor activity, to the team.
  • Comply with all Restek policies and procedures, including site rules when visiting customer sites, and take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role, as the needs of the business require.

Measures of Success

  • New contacts and customers developed.
  • Customer meetings and site visits carried out.
  • Enquiries and quotations generated, and their conversion to orders, particularly on smaller projects and schemes.
  • Repeat business and customer feedback.
  • Brand visibility, including events attended and industry media coverage.
  • CRM records kept complete and current.

Person Specification Essential

  • Experience in a field sales, technical sales or customer-facing technical role within construction, civil engineering or specialist contracting.
  • Ability to understand technical solutions and explain them clearly to both technical and non-technical customers.
  • Confident communicator and relationship builder, comfortable meeting customers and presenting.
  • Self-motivated and driven to seek out new contacts, with the ability to plan own diary and travel.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel UK-wide and stay away from home when required.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of ground engineering, ground remediation, resin injection, concrete repair or similar specialist services and products.
  • Experience of insurance claim work, such as subsidence, and of dealing with insurers or loss adjusters.
  • An established network of industry contacts.
  • Experience of exhibiting at industry events, presenting CPDs or writing for industry media.
  • A technical qualification in civil engineering, construction or a related subject.
  • Experience of using a CRM system.
  • Valid CSCS card.
