ARCTIC FISHERIES LTD.
Business Development Representative
Sales Hunter
Honest Fish for an Honest Price — Since 1921
About Arctic Fisheries
For over 100 years, Arctic Fisheries Ltd. has operated on a simple premise; value, integrity, and prized personal relationships. Founded in 1921 by Fanny Kotok on the shores of Lake Erie, we are now a fourth-generation, family-owned seafood importer and distributor sourcing premium cod, haddock, lobster, crab, salmon, and more from; Iceland, Norway, Alaska, Canada, Japan, China and beyond. As a family-owned company, we can make decisions fast — without the layers of bureaucracy that slow down larger organizations. We don't just distribute seafood — we know it, we've cooked it, and we've fished it. We're looking for someone who sells with the same passion we bring to the product.
The Opportunity
This is a pure hunting role. You will own new business development — identifying, prospecting, and closing net-new accounts across food service, retail, restaurant groups, institutional buyers, and seafood processors. You will not be managing existing accounts — you will build, own, and grow the book of business you create. You will be opening doors that aren't yet open. If you thrive on the chase, know how to displace an incumbent supplier, and can hold your own in a conversation about snow crab vs. king crab, we want to meet you.
What You'll Do
- Prospect, cold call, and self-generate a pipeline of qualified leads across food service distribution, retail, restaurant groups, seafood wholesalers, and institutional buyers
- Displace incumbent seafood suppliers by leading with value, product knowledge, and Arctic Fisheries' proven reliability and sustainability credentials
- Conduct consultative discovery conversations to surface operational pain — stockouts, quality inconsistency, supplier consolidation needs
- Present and close on the full Arctic Fisheries portfolio: cod, haddock, pollock, lobster, crab, shrimp, salmon, and specialty species
- Build relationships with purchasing managers, executive chefs, food service directors, and procurement leads
- Track activity, pipeline, and forecasts with discipline; own your numbers
- Attend industry trade shows and seafood events to generate leads and expand your network
Who You Are
- A proven hunter: You generate your own pipeline, you don't wait for leads, and rejection energizes rather than deflates you
- Comfortable with cold outreach — phone, email, in-person — and relentless in follow-up without being directed
- A strong qualifier who knows when to pursue and when to move on
- Curious about the product — seafood knowledge is a major asset: You'll be selling to people who know fish and their business
- Competitive and self-motivated, accountable to your numbers without hand-holding
- A relationship builder who earns trust quickly and backs it with integrity — this company has run on handshakes for 100 years
Experience & Qualifications
- 3+ years of B2B sales in a new business development or hunting role; food service, seafood, or perishable distribution strongly preferred
- Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding new account acquisition targets
- Experience selling into food service operators, distributors, retailers, or institutional buyers is a significant plus
- ERP proficiency and disciplined pipeline management habits
- Ability to travel as needed for account visits, trade shows, and customer meetings
What Success Looks Like in Your First Year
- Build a qualified sales pipeline within the first 90 days
- Open and develop new active customer accounts
- Establish relationships with key decision-makers
- Become proficient in Arctic's product portfolio
- Consistently exceed prospecting and new business development goals
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission — your income is limited only by your effort
- No territory restrictions or caps — your growth potential is unlimited
- A 100+ year brand with world-class supplier relationships and a portfolio built to win on quality and value
- A family-owned culture where you're a person, not a headcount — relationships matter here
- Deep product training and access to one of the most knowledgeable seafood teams in the industry
- A company that gives back — we donate to charity each year in honor of a mentor who made us better
- Extensive inventory available to sell — not simply a trading model
- Global sourcing capabilities
- Investment in timely market intelligence and industry insights
- An experienced operations team that supports sales execution
- Purchasing decisions backed by decades of seafood expertise
- Executive leadership that is accessible, engaged, and actively involved in customer success
If you're a hunter who wants to sell something worth selling, let's get to know each other.
