Business Development Manager – IT Infrastructure - Data Centre solutions

London – Hybrid - flexible

£65,000–£85,000 basic + (Yr 1 £30,000–£50,000+ comms)

We are working with an established technology services business that is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager as part of its continued growth.

The role will initially be focused on new business, identifying target customers, opening doors and developing complex, high-value opportunities. As you win new customers, your remit will naturally evolve to include ownership and development of those accounts, allowing you to build long-term relationships and generate further growth.

You will take ownership of the full sales process, from initial prospecting and account research through to discovery, proposal, negotiation and close.

The role

  • Build a strong pipeline of new-business opportunities
  • Identify and engage prospective customers across the technology infrastructure market
  • Develop relationships with senior commercial, operational and technical stakeholders
  • Understand customer requirements and coordinate with internal specialists to develop suitable solutions
  • Manage consultative and project-led opportunities through the complete sales cycle
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and secure new customers
  • Develop the accounts you introduce to the business
  • Maintain accurate CRM, pipeline and forecasting information

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A proven track record of generating and winning new business
  • Experience selling IT, technology or infrastructure products, services or solutions
  • Credible commercial exposure to the data-centre market
  • An understanding of the organisations, stakeholders and commercial relationships within the wider data-centre ecosystem
  • The ability to identify relevant target customers and create opportunities from scratch
  • Confidence engaging senior business and technical decision-makers
  • Experience managing complex sales with multiple stakeholders and longer sales cycles
  • A proactive, resilient and commercially focused approach

Your background could include IT infrastructure, connectivity, networking, hardware, cloud, managed services, systems integration, consultancy or another technology-led solutions environment.

You do not need to be selling the same solutions today or be a dedicated data-centre specialist. However, you should already understand the data-centre market, know which organisations and stakeholders to approach, and be able to demonstrate success in winning new customers.

Please apply with your updated CV for further information.
