Business Development Manager – Electronic Trading (HFT)

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive commercial partnerships and account strategies with local brokers, Exchange Participants (EPs), trading desks, and IT leaders to advance Direct Market Access (DMA), Sponsored Access, and Broker Supplied Systems (BSS) initiatives
• Bridge technical and commercial requirements for partner brokers, converting operational bottlenecks (such as session throttle limits) into upgrade opportunities including high-capacity sessions, throttle expansions, and Drop Copy interfaces
• Analyze and optimize broker and exchange fee structures, commissions, and trading costs while monitoring the local HFT competitive landscape and key players' strengths
• Integrate stock borrowing pools, locate mechanisms, and borrow fee structures to strengthen trading strategies and commercial partnerships
• Lead exchange system onboarding, testing, and production rollout for partner brokers and HFT teams, while managing local vendors for data centre co-location and leased line deployments
• Act as the primary bridge between local stakeholders and overseas engineering teams to coordinate production troubleshooting, incident response, and technical reporting

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Information Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Must hold Hong Kong Permanent Residency or the legal right to work in Hong Kong without visa sponsorship
• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience within the HKEX trading ecosystem, including HFT firms, brokerages, funds, or trading technology vendors
• Strong local broker network with hands-on experience engaging licensed brokers or institutional trading desks to independently drive business development and account expansion
• Fluent in Mandarin and English (both spoken and written) is required; proficiency in Cantonese is a bonus
• Willing to travel occasionally and experienced in cross-regional coordination with overseas engineering teams
