What they need
About the role
We are looking for a driven and commercially minded Business Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and winning new business opportunities, building lasting client relationships, and contributing to the growth of our freight forwarding operations. You'll be a key player in a collaborative team environment where attitude and accountability are just as important as results.
Key responsibilities
- Proactively identify, target, and acquire new clients across relevant industry verticals
- Develop and execute a structured sales pipeline from prospecting through to close
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, and solution-pitching tailored to customer logistics needs
- Collaborate with operations and pricing teams to develop compelling, competitive proposals
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activity, leads, and opportunities in the CRM system
- Use CRM data to prioritise outreach, track pipeline health, and forecast revenue
- Provide regular reporting on sales performance and market feedback to management
- Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and new business targets
- Build strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients
- Act as a trusted point of contact, ensuring smooth handover to operations post-sale
About you
- 2+ years of experience in a business development or sales role, ideally within freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain
- Proven track record of hitting or exceeding sales targets
- Solid understanding of freight forwarding products (air, sea, road, customs) and the ability to translate these into client solutions
- Proficiency with CRM systems and a disciplined approach to pipeline management
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Experience with Cargowise is preferred but not mandatory — we welcome candidates who are willing to learn
- Self-motivated and results-oriented with ownership of your numbers
- A genuine team player who supports colleagues and shares knowledge openly
- Resilient and positive in the face of setbacks
- Honest, reliable, and someone who follows through on commitments
Benefits
- A supportive, team-first culture where your contribution is recognised
- Clear targets with the tools and backing to hit them
- Opportunity to grow within an expanding business
- Work alongside experienced professionals in the freight forwarding industry
- An active work environment where we work hard and have fun along the way, including monthly extra-curricular out-of-office activities
Other offers great for you!
