About COPE:

COPE has been Australia’s first choice for Sensitive Freight for the past 36 years. As a privately owned national organisation, we support some of the world’s most innovative and technology-driven companies. Our work involves the safe handling, transport, and installation of high-value and specialised equipment across medical, IT, print, and other sensitive sectors.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager – 3PL to join our Solutions team. This role is responsible for driving new business growth across warehousing and integrated 3PL solutions, while identifying aligned transport opportunities that support COPE’s broader network.

You will play a critical role in designing commercially viable and operationally sound 3PL solutions, working closely with Operations, Pricing, and Leadership teams to ensure successful delivery and long-term customer partnerships. This is a strategic and consultative sales role requiring strong industry expertise, commercial acumen, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a structured sales strategy to build a pipeline of 3PL and warehousing opportunities
  • Identify, qualify, and shape opportunities aligned with COPE’s facility capability and target margins
  • Design integrated 3PL solutions including storage, inventory management, handling, and labour models
  • Ensure all opportunities are commercially sound, operationally feasible, and submitted for internal approval (RMM) prior to commitment
  • Collaborate with Operations and Pricing teams to validate capacity, solution design, and pricing structures
  • Structure complementary transport solutions aligned to 3PL opportunities and network requirements
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and opportunity data within CRM systems
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities
  • Support onboarding of new customers and ensure compliance with internal processes and service standards

What will you bring to the role:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in logistics business development, with strong 3PL warehousing exposure
  • Demonstrated understanding of 3PL operations including storage, inventory, and value-added services
  • Proven ability to design and sell integrated logistics and warehousing solutions
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to structure profitable and sustainable deals
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across all levels
  • High attention to detail and strong planning capability
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working within structured approval and governance frameworks is highly desirable

What we offer:

Working with COPE means joining a national brand with strong career pathways. We offer:

  • Competitive salary package including car allowance and performance-based bonus
  • Employee benefits including EAP and the Bridgestone Business Associates Program
  • Discounts on accommodation, health insurance and 200+ major retail brands, including Coles and Woolworths
  • Training and development opportunities across our large national business
  • The opportunity to play a key role in shaping growth within a specialised and evolving logistics environment
