Business Development Manager WA

About the role

This is a new, autonomous position based in Perth, reporting directly to the National Sales Manager. The role combines managing an established merchant base with a strong focus on hunting for new business across Western Australia. You will be responsible for winning new business with plumbing contractors through merchant accounts. The role requires regular travel throughout metropolitan and regional Western Australia as required.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Elson's established WA merchant base
• Develop plumbers' engagement and hunt for new business
• Increase product penetration and sales across merchant accounts
• Attend trade shows, trade days and industry events
• Conduct product presentations and trade training where required
• Manage sales reporting, customer activity and spreadsheets

About you

• Proven sales experience, preferably in the plumbing, building industry
• A track record in new business development
• A proactive, determined and persistent approach to sales
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to identify opportunities and turn them into sales
• High levels of self-motivation, initiative and accountability
• The ability to work autonomously and manage your own territory
• Willingness to travel throughout metropolitan and regional WA
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Good computer skills, including Excel, Word and Outlook
• A current and valid driver's licence
