The Opportunity

At Industrial Constructors/Managers (ICM), we don’t just build structures; we build the backbone of industry. With a 40+ year legacy as an award-winning General Contractor, we are looking for a an experienced, technically minded Business Development Representative with industrial construction or heavy industrial experience to drive revenue growth across Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah.

This role is not retail or consumer sales; it requires someone who understands (or has the capacity to quickly understand) industrial project scopes, plant operations environments, and self‑perform construction services such as structural steel, process piping, rigging, and millwright work.

As the face of ICM in the field, you will build relationships with industrial facility managers, plant engineers, project managers, EPCs, and general contractors to identify upcoming capital projects, maintenance work, and turnaround needs. You will work closely with estimating and operations teams to position ICM’s self‑perform capabilities and secure new industrial projects.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in industrial settings, understands how industrial construction projects are developed and awarded, and is motivated by opening doors with manufacturing plants, utilities, energy producers, and heavy industrial clients.

Why Join ICM?

  • Unmatched Capability: We self-perform seven key trades. When you sell ICM, you’re backed by the best craftsmen in the business.
  • Autonomy: Manage a multi-state territory with the support of an expert estimating and project management team.
  • Stability & Growth: Award-winning safety and a 40+ year track record of "on time and on budget."

What You’ll Do

  • Relationship Architecture: Build and maintain deep-rooted partnerships with both prospective and existing clients, understanding their needs, ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborative Bidding: Work alongside our expert Estimating and Project Management teams to tailor winning solutions for complex industrial needs, coordinating and assisting in the proposal & bidding process.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of the curve by researching emerging trends in the industry and competitor movements to inform business development strategies.

What You’ll Bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of business development or account management experience in the industrial, construction, manufacturing, or heavy commercial sectors. Experience working with plant managers, engineers, EPCs, or industrial contractors is strongly preferred, and a "hunter" mindset is necessary. Familiarity with industrial construction methods, processes, and project scheduling is highly desirable.
  • Technical Aptitude: Comfort navigating CRM software (Followup) managing the sales pipeline tracking lead interactions and sales metrics reporting, along with the ability to learn the nuances of process piping, structural steel, and millwright services.
  • Enthusiastic Regional Brand Ambassador: A passion for networking at industry events and a willingness to travel the Southwest territory. Highly motivated, self-driven, and results-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional Interpersonal Agility: The ability to translate complex technical capabilities into compelling value propositions and negotiation strategies. Prepare and deliver engaging & impactful presentations to potential clients. Ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization.
