At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as a Business Information Analyst.
The role
As a Business Information Analyst, you'll play a key role in helping shape a nationally significant defence transformation programme. Rather than maintaining existing reports, you'll develop innovative business intelligence solutions that turn complex operational and asset data into meaningful insights. Your work will influence strategic decision-making, improve fleet performance, and support the development of a data-driven operating model for the future of defence support services. Working with advanced digital technologies and analytics tools, you'll help drive operational excellence while developing valuable skills in a fast-moving and highly visible programme environment.
Day-to-day you'll be required to:
- Analyse operational, asset and fleet readiness data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Develop interactive dashboards, reports and visualisations using business intelligence tools.
- Collaborate with engineering, logistics, programme and operational teams to deliver data-driven solutions.
- Design automated reporting processes, workflows and business intelligence tools to improve efficiency and data quality.
- Support predictive analytics and continuous improvement initiatives to optimise performance and decision-making.
The role is remote, with office attendance expected approximately once every fortnight. The role is contracted to 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Essential experience of the Business Information Analyst:
- Strong knowledge of business intelligence and data visualisation tools, particularly Power BI.
- Experience with SQL, data modelling and data management principles.
- Knowledge of advanced analytics, predictive modelling, statistical analysis or machine learning techniques.
- Experience within defence, logistics, asset-intensive or operational environments.
Qualifications for the Business Information Analyst:
- Degree-level qualification in Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
