Business Intelligence & Data Engineering Analyst

Who you are

• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field
• Some programming skills in Python and SQL
• Familiarity with data visualization or BI tools i.e. Power BI
• Academic or personal projects creating dashboards, ETL pipelines, or data engineering
• Understanding of basic data concepts such as tables, relationships, joins, aggregations, and data quality
• Some technical skills in one or more of the following - REST APIs, JSON, MySQL, AWS, GIT

What the job involves

• We are seeking a junior Business Intelligence & Data Engineering Analyst on a 12 month FTC to support the development of dashboards, data pipelines, and analytics solutions
• You will work with Power BI, Python, SQL, and AWS while partnering with business and technical team members to turn data into meaningful insights
• This is a Hybrid, Nottingham based role (40% in the office) reporting to the Vice President for Enterprise AI Programs
• Power BI & Data Visualization
• Assist in building and enhancing Power BI dashboards and reports
• Create and modify DAX measures, calculated columns, and basic time-intelligence calculations
• Help develop data models using concepts such as star schemas and table relationships
• Support dashboard performance, usability, and data-quality improvements
• Create clear visualizations that help business stakeholders understand trends, performance, and opportunities
• Learn how to design dashboards and analytics for senior and executive audiences
• Data Engineering & ETL
• Develop and enhance Python-based data pipelines with guidance from the team
• Connect to REST APIs and work with JSON and other structured data
• Clean, transform, and validate datasets using Python libraries such as pandas
• Help implement error handling, logging, and data-quality checks
• Write clean, reusable, and well-documented Python code
• Load and manage structured data in relational databases
• Write SQL queries to retrieve, combine, and analyze data
• Data Modeling & Metrics
• Help translate business questions into measurable KPIs and metrics
• Support the design and validation of calculated metrics
• Identify relationships across datasets and help integrate data from multiple sources
• Perform data-quality checks to ensure dashboards and analyses are accurate
• Investigate discrepancies and help determine root causes
• Work with the team to turn loosely defined business questions into analytical approaches
