Business Intelligence Back-End Developer, Sr.

GovSG is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Back-end Developer to support the NAVAL Information Warfare Center Pacific’s Business Intelligence system hosted on the War Data Platform Jupiter enclave. The NIWC Pacific Business Intelligence system integrates data from various authoritative sources such as Navy ERP to provide reports, tools, ad hoc query capability, and dashboards for the command. Candidate will use Databricks, Tableau, and Qlik Sense to create visualizations, dashboards, and analytics applications.

This position is on-site in San Diego, CA.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develop and sustain datasets for Business Intelligence reports, applications, and dashboards using Databricks technology such as: SQL, Spark, and Python.
• Create datasets from Functional Design Specifications (FDS).
• Develop data structures/marts within War Department Platform/Jupiter, Snowflake, or a government specified environment
• Design and automate processes to facilitate the manipulation and analysis of data.
• Develop Data Visualization reports, metrics, dashboards, and other techniques to communicate information.
• Perform user requirements analysis and stakeholder interviews.
• Perform Data transformation and migration.
• Manage Data warehouses and data lakes, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to standards, and sharing of knowledge.
• Maintain and optimize database objects, including tables, views, and notebooks, containing complex SQL queries and python code
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• DoD Secret Clearance
• Four (4) years of experience designing developing & maintaining Business Intelligence solutions to support business requirements
• Experience in design, development, and maintenance of ETL processes for data warehouses
• Understanding of database & data warehouse concepts including schemas and data modeling
• Experience with Agile development methodology
• Experience with the War Data Platform/Jupiter environment
• Experience with one or more of the following: Databricks, Tableau, Qlik, Python, Scala, SQL

Salary: $170,000-$176,000. Actual compensation offered to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
