Business Intelligence Developer

Profectus is seeking expressions of interest from experienced BI Developers for likely future opportunities across the Australian Government. The work is likely to require building reports, dashboards and data models that turn large program and operational data sets into information for executives, program areas and service delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain reports and dashboards
• Develop semantic data models and measures for reporting
• Write SQL queries and transformations to prepare reporting data
• Gather reporting requirements from business stakeholders
• Validate report data against source systems and resolve discrepancies
• Optimise report and data model performance
• Apply row-level security and access controls to reports
• Publish, manage and support reports in production
• Document data sources, report logic and definitions

Required Experience

• Minimum five years in BI or reporting development roles
• Power BI, Tableau or similar BI tools
• Advanced SQL
• Data modelling for reporting, including star schemas
• Gathering and translating reporting requirements
• Working with large data sets from multiple source systems

Desirable Experience

• Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse or Databricks
• DAX and Power Query
• Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300) certification
• Government or other regulated-industry reporting programs

Security Clearance Requirements

• Must be an Australian Citizen
• Must hold a current AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance (minimum)

• Hybrid
• Canberra preferred
