Business Intelligence Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Developer with expertise in Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools, specifically AWS Quicksight and Microsoft Power BI. As a BI Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights, enabling data-driven decision-making within our organization. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of AWS Quicksight , Power BI, SQL, AWS services, and should be capable of building compelling BI reports and dashboards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. BI Reporting Development:

• Develop and maintain interactive and visually appealing BI reports and dashboards using AWS Quicksight and Microsoft Power BI.
• Translate business requirements into effective data visualizations, ensuring data accuracy and relevancy.

2. Data Integration:

• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources, including SQL databases, into the BI reporting tools.
• Ensure data consistency and integrity in the reporting process.

3. AWS Quicksight Expertise:

• Utilize AWS Quicksight as the primary BI tool, creating data sets, analyses, and visualizations that meet business needs.
• Leverage AWS Console and main services as necessary for data integration and access.

4. Microsoft Power BI Skills:

• Utilize Microsoft Power BI for reporting and dashboard development, ensuring cross-platform compatibility.
• Understand the nuances of Power BI for creating compelling visualizations.

5. SQL Proficiency:

• Write SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from datasets written in SQL, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.

6. Collaboration:

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, business analysts, and stakeholders, to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance on BI projects.

7. Documentation:

• Maintain documentation for BI reports, data sources, and data transformation processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in BI report development, with a focus on AWS Quicksight and Microsoft Power BI and working with Oracle databases.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in AWS Quicksight is a must, with a solid understanding of Microsoft Power BI. Experience with the AWS Console, AWS RDS, S3 and related services is advantageous.
• SQL Knowledge: Strong SQL skills for data manipulation and retrieval.
• Data Analysis: Ability to analyze complex data sets and translate them into meaningful insights.
• Data Visualization: Proficiency in creating visually engaging and effective data visualizations.
• Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve BI-related issues.
• Data Governance: Understanding of data governance principles and data security best practices.
• AWS Certification: AWS certification is a plus but not mandatory.
• Team Player: Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
