Business Manager

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: must have experience managing a fast pace office and warehouse with multiple departments for at least three (3) years.

Job Summary

The Business Manager is responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:

• Manage the accounting department including preparation of monthly data and financial reports for multiple departments
• Manage the Company communication accounts including cell phones and Wi-Fi devices
• Manage the Company insurance accounts
• Manage the Company vehicle fleet
• Supervise office and warehouse staff
• Provide office support for field service and plant operations staff both in person and via phone
• Advise and approve on the new hiring process and requirements for multiple departments
• Advise and discuss on the termination or layoff process and requirements for multiple departments
• Review, approve and coordinate the vacation requests and schedule for multiple departments
• Report any personnel issues and disciplinary actions, advise on additions and changes to the Company policies and report any other staffing concerns during the management meetings
• Prepare and conduct annual reviews for all office staff to determine raises/promotions or pay reduction/demotion
• Prepare invoices for field service and plant operation customers
• Manage the time clock system and prepare payroll for multiple departments
• Answer phone calls, communicate with customers and vendors
• Respond to emails, communicate with customers and vendors
• Communicate with the employees regarding human resource questions
• Plan and execute company tradeshows, email marketing and website updates
• Plan and execute customer events, dinners and parties

Qualifications

• Experience managing a fast pace office and warehouse with multiple departments for at least three (3) years
• College degree in business management is a plus
• A military background is a plus
• California Driver's License
• Good communication skills, both oral and written
• Strong computer skills, including - Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe and QuickBooks
• Multitasking and working in a high stress environment
• Must be able to work long hours and/or weekends when needed

Salary is $90,000.00 per year.

In 2012, Water Quality Specialists partnered with Coombs Service Group, California general contractor #1014254, to increase the scope and quality of maintenance services offered to our customers. The new philosophy allowed the WQS operators to focus on permit compliance and CSG technicians to focus on electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation-related repairs under a true operations and maintenance contract. The partnership has been a success; in 2016 Water Quality Specialists was recognized as one of the 15 water management companies at the forefront of innovation.
