Business Development Manager – Construction Solutions

About the Role

We are looking for a construction industry professional who understands construction workflows and can translate operational challenges into practical digital solutions.

ContractX is an enterprise construction solution covering contract administration, procurement, project costing, claims, financial control and management reporting.

Candidates with experience in contract administration, quantity surveying, construction operations or procurement/purchasing are encouraged to apply. Business development or software sales experience is an advantage, but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

1. Identify and develop new business opportunities within the construction industry.
2. Understand prospective clients' workflows, business challenges and requirements, and identify how ContractX can address them.
3. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
4. Conduct ContractX presentations, demonstrations and solution discussions.
5. Prepare proposals and communicate the business value and ROI of ContractX.
6. Manage opportunities from initial engagement through proposal, negotiation and closing.
7. Work closely with Product, Technical and Project Delivery teams to develop suitable solutions.
8. Maintain and report on sales pipeline, activities and forecasts.
9. Monitor market and competitor developments and participate in industry networking activities.

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in the construction industry.

• Practical knowledge in one or more of:

  • Contract administration / Quantity Surveying
  • Procurement and purchasing
  • Project costing and budget control
  • Progress and subcontractor claims
  • Construction project operations

• Good understanding of workflows between Project/Site, Contract/QS, Procurement and Finance teams.

• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to understand business problems and recommend practical solutions.

• Comfortable engaging with both operational teams and senior management.

• Able to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

Added Advantages

• Experience in business development, pre-sales, solution selling or account management.
• Knowledge of construction ERP, procurement, project management or enterprise software.
• Experience in ERP implementation or business process digitalisation.
• Existing network within the Malaysian construction industry.

Education

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building, Civil Engineering, Business, IT, Accounting/Finance or related disciplines preferred.

Relevant construction industry experience may be considered in place of specific academic qualifications.
