About the role

We are seeking a Business Operations Manager to join our team in Bintulu, Sarawak on a full-time basis. This is a strategic management position that plays a crucial role in driving operational excellence and business growth at BOILERMASTER EM SDN BHD. The Business Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, optimising processes, managing resources, and ensuring that all business objectives are met efficiently and effectively. This role is essential to our continued success and will have a direct impact on our operational performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage commercial activities, strategic projects, and day-to-day business operations to achieve organisational objectives.
• Manage P&L, budgets, financial performance, forecasting, and resource allocation to optimise profitability and operational efficiency.
• Analyse business performance, operational metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare performance reports for management review.
• Oversee business operations, workflow administration, project coordination, and customer service to ensure smooth and efficient delivery.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain service standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, engineering, maintenance, logistics, and other departments to drive business growth and operational excellence.
• Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions to ensure business continuity and customer satisfaction.
• Manage, develop, and mentor operations staff, conduct performance reviews, and foster a collaborative, high-performance work culture.

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering Management, Operations Management, or a related field

• Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management, business management, or a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing environment

• Strong understanding of operational processes, supply chain management, and resource planning

• Proven track record in process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency optimisation

• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff

• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and compliance requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organisation

• Problem-solving ability and strong decision-making capabilities in a fast-paced environment

• Willingness to travel locally as required by the role
