Business Planning Manager

About the role

As the Business Planning Manager at PT Samindo Resources Tbk, you will lead the company’s financial planning, business performance analysis and management reporting functions. Reporting directly to the management team, you will be responsible for driving the business planning process, evaluating the financial and operational performance of subsidiaries, and providing strategic recommendations to support sustainable growth and management decision-making. This full-time position is based in South Jakarta, Jakarta.

What you'll be doing

• Lead the preparation of the company’s annual business plan, budget, financial forecast, and long-term financial projections.
• Direct the consolidation and review of business plans, budgets, and financial projections submitted by subsidiaries.
• Evaluate the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational performance of the company and its subsidiaries.
• Analyze revenue, profitability, cost structure, cash flow, capital expenditure, and key operational performance indicators.
• Identify business performance gaps, financial risks, and potential improvement areas across subsidiaries.
• Develop strategic recommendations and corrective action plans to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and overall business performance.
• Lead budget variance analysis and provide management with clear explanations of material deviations from approved targets.
• Review and approve financial models, scenario analyses, feasibility studies, investment evaluations, and business cases.
• Assess the financial viability and strategic impact of new business opportunities, investments, expansion plans, and corporate initiatives.
• Prepare and present management reports, financial dashboards, business performance reviews, and strategic presentations to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders.
• Lead regular performance review discussions with subsidiary management teams and monitor the implementation of agreed action plans.
• Coordinate with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Business Development, Operations, and subsidiary management teams to ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial and operational data.
• Review financial statements and ensure financial and business analyses are supported by accurate accounting information.
• Establish and improve financial planning, forecasting, performance monitoring, and management reporting frameworks.
• Develop key performance indicators and analytical tools to support effective business performance management.
• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to management regarding profitability, cost optimization, cash flow management, and resource allocation.
• Lead, supervise, and develop the Financial Planning & Analysis team.
• Strengthen coordination and standardization of financial planning and reporting processes across the holding company and subsidiaries.

What we're looking for

• Proficiency in English (both written & spoken) is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Finance, Economics or related fields from a reputable university.
• Minimum 13 years of experience in strategic planning, corporate planning, business development, management consulting or related roles.
• Preferably experienced in the mining or holding company environment.
• Experience reviewing and analyzing subsidiary or multi-business-unit performance is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking, business acumen and financial analysis skills.
• Excellent capability in preparing business reports, strategic presentations and management-level analysis.
• Good understanding of corporate strategy, business planning, budgeting, KPI monitoring and performance management.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple strategic priorities.
• Willing to undertake business trips as required.
