About the role

You will bring together customer service, service coordination and business administration, supporting our management, production, service and accounts teams. By taking ownership of routine administration and follow-up, you will help managers focus on running their departments and ensure information is accurate and available when needed.

This is a busy, hands-on role in a small manufacturing business where priorities can change throughout the day. You could be arranging an engineer visit, following up a supplier, updating an order or entering stock-check figures. The right candidate will need to be adaptable and flexible to the day-to-day needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate service and maintenance activities, including engineer schedules and service paperwork.
  • Liaise with customers regarding enquiries, orders, service visits and progress updates.
  • Coordinate customer requirements, delivery and installation arrangements, and training sessions.
  • Support purchasing activities, including raising purchase orders and communicating with suppliers.
  • Arrange collections and deliveries, maintaining relevant transport and shipment documentation.
  • Maintain accurate customer, supplier, service and operational records in business systems.
  • Support stock checks through accurate data entry and updates to stock records.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to management, including documents, reports and follow-up tasks.
  • Assist with communication between departments and other administrative duties as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous administration or customer service experience preferred
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable managing multiple administrative tasks
  • Flexible and willing to support different areas of the business where needed
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and internal systems
  • Ability to work well within a small and growing team

Desirable

  • Experience using Sage or similar systems
  • Experience using CRM or service management software

  • Workplace pension scheme (after probationary period)
  • 28 days annual leave entitlement, including bank holidays

  • Opportunity to grow within a developing business
  • Varied and rewarding role supporting multiple areas of the company
